Momma of two boys, Jason and Matthew.
Engaged to my boyfriend of four years!
We have a kitty named Patches, who I love to post pictures of all the time.
I like to post about mom life, mental health, photography and more.
Jay: "We go to zoo?"
Me: "Not today, we're going to see grandpa." Jay: "Zoo broken anyway."
Me: "Why is it broken?"... Jay: "Penguins broke their own home, and went on the train."
Totally makes sense. We can't go to the zoo today because the penguins trashed the place, and escaped by taking the train.
Me: "I said to stop climbing on your brother!" Jay: "No Mommy. Matty.. mine horsie!"
Me: "Oh my goodness JayJay, you have a wasp bite!"
Jason: "Wasp.. biiite? Wasp bite me? BUG ATTACKED ME!?"
Jon: "So Jay, is there anything you would like me to do with you today?" Jay: "Yeah! We go to the slurpee store and get a treat."
Jon: "Is that all I'm good for, treats?" Jay: "How bout dis.. If me can't get kinder egg, me can get a toy!"
The kids are cleaning their room together.
The conversations they have.. Wtf?
Jay: "You have school tomorrow?"
Matt: "No, I don't have school for a long time."... Jay: "You do! You can see yours girlfriend." Matt: "....I don't have a girlfriend!" Jay: "You don't have a girlfriend right now??" Matt: "NO!" Jay: "Aww, it's okay Matty. You get one soon."
Jay: "Me no like cleaning. Cleaning takes ALL DAY!"
Matt: "Yeah.. but it'll make Mommy happy. Plus we want to surprise Jon when he gets home from work!" Jay: "We will mess his room! And hide in his bed!"
Matt: "....Not that kind of surprise, Jay."
Me: Jason.. It shouldn't take this long to wash your hands. Jay: Me making my arms happy!
Jon asks how it looks, and Jay says "Good! You look like Nemo!"
Jay: "Let me hear your heart." Matty: "No Jay, I'm reading." Jay: "Just let me! ME NEED TO!" Matty: "No!" ...
Little Jason somehow over powers Matthew.. Pins him down.. Then gently puts his head on Matty to listen to his heart beat. Matty calls me for help, so I go rescue him. Then I hear: Jay: "It's OK Patchy, me just want to hear your heart." I had to rescue her too. Poor cat. What the hell is happening today..
Matty, handing Jay a tissue: "Here, this is for your SNOTTY attitude!"
This story is from March 2014, when little Jason was just 17 months old and Matthew was eight.
Jason just loves Matty's hamster. He points to him all the time, giggles, talks to him and knocks on the glass cage to wake him.
Today I had to change the cage.... Jay was so excited to see him up close, he sat next to me and just stared intensely at the hamster.
I grabbed the first little box I could find out of the recycling, to put the hamster in. It was a happy meal box. Jason was so mad at me for some reason once the hamster went inside. He'd point at the cage and give me "the look".
The second I turned my back to get the garbage bag, Jay had taken the Hamster happy meal and ran off. When I turned around, he had his ear up to the box while gently shaking it.
The trees are budding, and the grass is slowly turning green. It's a beautiful time to get out there, and use my camera! <3 I can't wait for flowers to bloom, I'll be at Edworthy all of the time for pictures!
These are a few that I took just the other day. Click the images for a larger view.
We took advantage of the nice weather last weekend, and had dinner at Edworthy Park here in Calgary. It was wonderful. We brought sandwiches, drinks and enjoyed it under a tree near a playground.
We walked down to the river where the kids threw rocks, and watched dogs splash around.
On our walk back to the car, we stopped at a couple of playgrounds for the kids to play.
I got to take some lovely family photos as well. It was a nice evening out, I'm glad that we can finally do this again! Stay away, winter!
There's always something creepy going on at night, at least once a week. Here are just some of the most creepy moments lately:
This nighttime weirdness is Matthew, talking in his sleep.
I went to cover the kids up around midnight, because it's so cold in here.
Matty opened his eyes and said "They're coming, and they'll throw us all in a corner."
I was creeped out, and I ended up sleeping with the hallway light on.
Jon was making sounds in his sleep, as if he was upset. So I asked "Are you okay? Honey?"
He says "I'm sleeping! You're so annoying!"
Then started snoring away.
The fuck? Lol.
Jason is the most creepy child, when it comes to sleep walking.
I heard sounds coming from their room, so I opened the door a tiny bit to see what it was.
I saw was a tiny shadowy figure (Jason) standing at the edge of Matty's bed. His little eyes were bulged out, just staring off into space.. then suddenly he yells "MATTYYYYYY!" ...
Posts about my kids and the funny things they say, from my mom.
Matthew: "Talking to my ten year old grandson on the phone, they are on vacation in Vernon. His little brother was going around spanking them. He told me that Mommy was doing something so I said, "maybe she needs a spanking too." Matty says, "Oh Jon will probably do that, he's always touching Mommy's butt.""
Jason: "My little grandson messaged me to give me heck. He saw a black cat at Petland in Calgary and assumed I had abandoned Fonzie (my cat) there. He's not letting it slide, or forgiving me....he brings it up every time we talk...with a scowl in his voice. Then when he's done discussing it, he's back to normal conversation. He told me I did a mean thing. Lol."
Matthew: "While playing with his foam sword today, he tore it, so asked for another sword. I told him to use some duct tape. Magically, he knew right where it was. I figured he'd keep busy looking for it for the rest of the day. I rip off a big piece and he says, "you don't need that big a piece!" I told him I did. I started wrapping it around the foam sword and he says, "Oh, I see what you're doing, you're not only fixing it but that will give it some style too!""
My four year old, Jason, loves to talk to his Grandma.
I give him my phone, to let him spam her on Facebook messenger..
But he has learned how to phone her, and does so whenever he pleases.
Here's a conversation from just the other day.
He's so funny.
Jason: Hi Gramma, me love you. Jason: Gramma me miss you. Grandma: Hi Jay, I love you a lot!... Jason: You don't miss me? Grandma: Yes, of course I miss you too. You will have to come sleep over one night at my house. Jason: No. Grandma: What? Yeah, we'll go to the park, and we'll get ice cream. Jason: No, me not sleeping at your house. Grandma: You know how you sleep over at your dads? Well you can come do that here too, you know. Jason: Me don't get ice cream at daddys. Grandma: That's not the point. Jason: You wanna talk to Mommy now? Grandma: Why, do you want to text me some more? Jason: Yah Grandma: Ok, I love you AND I miss you. Jason: Yah...me know.
During our British Columbia road trip last year, we got to stop at Kangaroo Creek Farms.
It was wonderful, we all had a blast! It was one of my favorite parts about the whole trip.
The price to get in was very reasonable. $10 per adult, and $5 per child. Children under 5 are free, and seniors are only $5.
The staff were all very friendly, and helpful when we didn't know where to go.
The animals are very well taken care of, and the place is larger than I expected it to be.
I'd visit regularly, if I didn't live so far away.
The baby emus roll around in the grass like puppy dogs. My toddler giggled as he watched them flop around. He finally got brave enough to pet one
The Wallaroos are just adorable. These seemed to be my children's favorite, as they are the same size! They're like miniature kangaroos.
It was very cool to see a capybara in person. I've only ever seen them in pictures. Very calm, gentle animals.
The Red Kangaroos are a must to pet! They feel like a stuffed teddy bear.
This Red Kangraoo is Megatron, he's such a sweetie. He hung out with us for a little bit, and ate food out of the kids hands. I managed to get a video of this! <3
The kangaroos were so much fun to hang out with! We fed them, pet them and watched them play with each other.
I almost forgot to mention my favorite part.. The babies!
You get to hold a baby kangaroo (Joeys), in a little pouch. They were too cute for words.
This one we held is Victoria. She had the biggest eyes, I wanted to take her home!
If you're in the Kelowna area, or just passing through.. this place is worth the visit!
Make sure to check their hours on the website, before you plan your day. The animals need their rest.
